U.S. Beef Nutrition Is Focus of Retail Promotion in Taipei

High prices for popular beef cuts in Taiwan mean buyers look for product substitutions, but they need guidance on which items to substitute. Beef checkoff funding promotes alternative beef cuts such as plate fingers, rib cap plate, coulotte, clod heart, brisket and petite tender to targeted retail buyers, and it goes further by bringing samples to consumers. A partnership with one of Taiwan’s largest retailers resulted in “American Week” and barbecue promotions focused on explaining beef’s vital role in nutrition, especially for children.
