Beef Exports Remain Strong in March
U.S. beef exports capped a strong first quarter with excellent March results. Beef exports totaled 232.2 million pounds in March, up 18 percent year-over-year, with value increasing 22 percent to $588.2 million.
South Texas Beef 706
The Texas Beef Council, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and Texas A&M University Kingsville recently teamed up to kick-off the first session of a special Beef 706 program that began in March. The three-part series includes hands-on sessions focusing on beef quality management and marketing opportunities and is available for beef cattle producers from Brooks, Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr and Willacy counties.
Beef Team Round-Up
Texas BEEF Team members recently represented the powerful protein they love at runs, triathlons and cycling events in Woodlands, Dallas, Houston, Beaumont, Tyler and Seabrook. In March, more than 380 team members were seen wearing their “Fueled by Beef” gear and showcasing how beef can fit into healthy diet and lifestyle.
The Texas Beef Council recently hosted two sessions of Beef Boot Camp for more than 40 HEB meat market managers from around the state. The group participated in a day-long training about beef nutrition, grilling techniques, quality grades, flavor pairings, and of course, delicious beef recipes!
